In some cases, you will receive multiple statements for a single visit at WinnMed. While we are one fully integrated health care organization, WinnMed has separate billing requirements for some services. Some insurance providers also require us to submit claims for facility and physicians services to different locations, which can also result in more than one billing statement for the same visit.

When you receive a billing statement for services from WinnMed, please note that the statement may not reflect the entire balance due from all accounts with WinnMed. Any payment made will be posted to the oldest date of service.

WinnMed Urgent Care is an outpatient department of our facility, not a stand-alone facility. Charges may apply to your deductible.
WinnMed will submit claims to insurance or Medicare on your behalf. If you did not provide insurance information at your visit or your insurance has changed, please contact us immediately to ensure proper billing.
You will be responsible for all expenses that insurance or Medicare does not cover. Any disputes about your bill should be resolved directly between you and your insurance provider as well.
We are a preferred provider for many insurance plans, such as Medicare, Wellmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Humana, United Healthcare, and Midlands Choice. A provision of the Affordable Care Act calls for the government to create public exchanges, an online Marketplace to help consumers determine if they are eligible for Medicaid, low-cost coverage and/or financial assistance to cover the costs of their health insurance; compare and contrast health insurance plan options; and enroll in the plan that best meets his/her needs. The public exchanges/Marketplaces will provide online information about various health insurance coverage options to meet the needs of individuals who are uninsured, Medicaid eligible and small employers. Beginning January 1, 2014, every state will have a public exchange, also known as a Marketplace, in operation.
