WinnMed will turn over accounts to a third party collection agency if payments are not made by the due date on your statement. However, we have several options to help you maintain good standing with your account. To advance our focus in these areas we have created a partnership that will help us provide additional payment plan options for you, if you may need them. We’ve teamed up with Epic River and Union Bank & Trust to provide this patient payment plan program. This program offers you a variety of options when it comes to paying your medical bills!
We realize that medical costs can be significant and sometimes unexpected. Epic River and Union Bank & Trust work collaboratively with us to provide a guaranteed lending solution for our patients regardless of their credit history, if they need help paying their health care bills.
Patients who need a payment plan of six months or longer are expected to work with Epic River and Union Bank & Trust to establish that payment plan.
Why should I choose to use this program?
WinnMed’s policy is that payment in full is due within 30 days of the date you receive a bill. We understand that you may find this expectation difficult to meet. By utilizing our payment plan program through Epic River and Union Bank & Trust, patients will receive the following benefits:
What if I already have an active payment plan?
Patients who are already making payments for a mutually agreed upon payment plan and are in good standing with that plan will not see any changes immediately. These payment plans will be allowed to continue until they are completed. However, any new services you receive after September 30, 2021 will not be added to your existing payment plan. Those charges will be expected to go onto a separate payment plan with Epic River and Union Bank & Trust, or added to the existing balance and the repayment period shortened to match our new expectations. You will also have the option to move your existing payment plan to a payment plan provided by Epic River and Union Bank & Trust.
Can I work with a local bank?
Yes. We encourage our patients to explore any option they have available when deciding the best way to pay for their health care. In that case, WinnMed will not be able to assist you in receiving a loan.
