RxLocal is an easy-to-use app that allows you to: manage your entire family’s prescriptions, communicate directly with us via HIPAA secure messages, order prescription refills, and set personal medication reminders. ** If you already use RxLocal, you can keep your same login information. Simply choose "WinnMed Pharmacy" as your home pharmacy, and you are set to go!
We fill prescriptions from all providers and health systems and provide a drug interaction and safety review with every new prescription we fill. We are in-network with many insurance plans.
We offer a large selection of over-the-counter medications and pharmaceutical supplies, including name brand and generic options.
We can compound most non-sterile medications. (Hormone compounding is NOT available.)
If you need a medication which has been filled elsewhere, we can transfer the prescription here and fill it for you and vice-versa.
We will mail your prescription directly to your home within the state of Iowa. (Please consider mail delivery time when requesting this service.)
The best way to dispose of old medications is by bringing them in to the pharmacy for us to send off in the TakeAway program.
We can make a printout of all of your current medications, including their name, strength and directions. We also offer Prescription Expense Reports.
Our pharmacy is open Monday-Friday from 9:00 am – 6:00 pm; Saturday from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm and is closed Sunday and major holidays.
We offer services and consults in person, medication pick-up through our convenient drive-up window and free delivery is available to any address in the City of Decorah and Freeport area, including the assisted living apartments in Aase Hagen, Eastern Star, and Wellington Place. Delivery services are also available to the Ossian community. With prior arrangement, prescriptions are delivered to the Ossian Clinic Tuesday and Friday afternoons, where patients can stop in at their convenience to pick up their medications. Ossian Clinic is open daily from 7:30 am – 3:30 pm. Payment for medications must be made via credit card to the WinnMed Pharmacy when the prescription is ordered. We try to fill your maintenance medications all at the same time-saving you multiple trips to the pharmacy.
Meds-to-Beds is a partnership between you, your provider and the WinnMed Pharmacy to fill your new prescriptions and deliver them to your bedside before you leave the hospital.
Prior to your discharge from the hospital, your provider will work with your hospital nurses and the WinnMed Pharmacy to fill any new prescriptions you may need once you are home. The pharmacist will call you on the phone to counsel you on these medications so you feel confident in taking them.
Yes, WinnMed Pharmacy staff will submit claims to your insurance, as they would if you were visiting the pharmacy to pick them up.
You may pay via credit card.
The WinnMed Pharmacy can deliver during business hours Monday-Friday, and Saturday mornings. If you are discharged from the hospital during those hours, the Meds-to-Beds program may be an option for you.
Retail pharmacists serve in a consultative role for the Mayo Clinic Health System clinical practice at WinnMed. Physicians can consult with the pharmacist for medication support and patient education, as part of the patient’s appointment. Pharmacists also join the primary care team and provide services and education within the hospital walls.
